One of Two...

Finally, something to talk about!

JJ and I decided to get off from work and do something away from our respective square-headed gf's and bf's. It was a sort of ASAP plan although the idea was already there - to do something on Friday and Saturday. One thing for sure, we wanted to hit off Cedar Point. Thursday night, we were up late screwing up with our pc's and went to bed with no final plans.

Friday morning, Star woked me up around 7:30 to do her morning routine. So I took her down and let her do her business and gave her breakfast. After all that we went upstairs and decided to wake up JJ. He started calling this Dog Day Care trying to find out if we can have Star board for a day or two. We ended up booking her at Big Walnut Animal Care Clinic which is where we go for her vet appointments. Right there and then, I started getting ready/cooking for her food that will last till sunday morning. (We should be back saturday night but we won't be able to pick her up until sunday since the clinic closes on saturday's at 4PM). Star is on a special diet for rice, chicken and eukanuba with antibiotic for her tummy trouble.

Now, we can plan for ourselves. JJ booked an overnight stay at a Holiday Inn Hotel, printed the map, packed our clothes, showered and everything, finally left the house around 10AM for Star's boarding.

We went to see her place which seemed so nice, and clean, quite spacious for a little critter like her. Infront of her room was a tiny dog, so I guess she'll have someone to talk with other than those big barking dogs. We also booked her for grooming. Good thing somebody backed out at the last minute! Also we signed up for 3 TLC/day which is 10 minutes playing and petting. We did came back though to bring her bigger toys. (JJ brought the small toys but the clinic didn't approved it, it might go down the drain). So after all Star was settled, we hit the road around noon and arrived in Catawba, after 3.

We then looked for the Jet Express that would take us to Put-in-Bay Island (located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie, just off the Ohio shore), one of Ohio's vacation gateaway, instead we got to the Miller Boat Line. So we boarded the ferry and got to the island after 18 minutes!

Rode a bus and headed to the downtown and went straight to Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial. The 352-foot high Doric column of pink granite towers above the island tree's.

Constructed between 1912 and 1915 by a commission of nine states and the federal government, Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial was built not only to commemorate the American naval triumph, but also "to inculcate the lessons of international peace by arbitration and disarmament.

Next, we hiked to the historical De Rivera Park which is just across the marina. They have lots of shopping, bar and restaurant.

Then we checked out the Chocolate Museum, looked around and got dinner and dessert respectively.

Now we have something in our tummy, its whine tasting time! Too bad, they were already closed! Darn! Oh well, can't argue, we started the day too late. We didn't even get the chance to see the caves, but we will be back! Soon!

We had to head straight to the Miller Ferry for their last trip which is 8PM. Here is a video when the ferry was about to dock.
