the day that was...

September 19th, marks our 3rd year wedding anniversary. I am happy and proud that JJ and I made this far. I do not remember us having a fight or misunderstanding this year. Everything went on smoothly. Now I can prove to those who are skeptical about this marriage that JJ and I are for real and our love for each other is undeniable. We are a happy couple and we will always be.

So what did we do to celebrate the occassion?
Nothing really much! JJ wished he can get off from work like I did. Although he tried to sneak out he just couldn't do it. We could have spend each other for the most part of the day goofing around and being silly. The last two years were celebrated with a short vacation in Chicago and Hocking Hills. This time is going to be our upcoming Hong Kong business trip with leisure and in the Philippines. It's coming up soon!

The good thing is, I got our anniversary flower from proflowers early this afternoon. It was shipped fresh, budding and ready to bloom. This time I wasn't alone grinning and sniffing while trying to open the box of flowers that came with a glass ginger vase. Star was very excited if something is in-store for her. She was grawling and barking and running around the box. The 24 colorful rose blossoms are sweet and stunning! I love the thought that JJ continue's to send me flowers (and gifts) he is an amazing husband. ;)

Got a card for JJ and in it i scribbled a note from my heart, that goes:

Hi Babe :)

Sept. 19th! the day when our lives become one.
We started our journey thru life together.
3 years have gone by and we're still walkin side by side, hand in hand.
You are my best friend, the finest partner, and the sweet
est love has ever known.
I'm so grateful life has led me to you
.
Thank you for all the love =)

JJ also loved star's signature paw greeting. She was so sweet to stand still while I was putting an ink on her paws and was able to print it clearly on the card. Star was very cooperative for the most part.

I also got him a gift which is a Polo perfume. He wasn't sure if he'd like the smell. The only perfume he wears is Cool Water so I thought I'd let him try something new and I was glad he did liked it! It's not a strong perfumed as a matter of fact it is as mild as that of Cool Water. (i think!)

When JJ got home he checked on the flowers and looked for something else. A gift that is supposed to arrive on time but was delayed by UPS. Darn it! UPS did it again. So I had to wait for the next day to see what it is.

Off we go to dinner at Hoover Grille. It's waterfront location on prestine Hoover Reservoir is relaxing and very beautiful. While waiting for our food we were playing I-recall games. We recalled where we celebrated our first and second anniversary and what we did on those occassions and where we dined out and what we ate. Just being silly, it was fun though. Later on we come up to an idea that on our 5th year anniversary or every 5 years we will go back to US Virgin Islands where we got married at Trunk Bay. Sweet!

After a sumptous dinner we ordered Creme Brulee for dessert - darn, it was evilicious =) lahat yan ubos, finger lickin' pa! We got home after a joyful night and while getting ready for bed I asked him again what he got me as a gift.

He gave me a hint. "it is something you wanted at some point"
hmmm..... something pooped in to my little brain...
but i told him i won't tell him.
and then he got curious....tell me!
pakipot pa...i won't!
...then i said, besides Ipod? (oh plez don't give me that!)
GRIN!
Ok, another hint pa. Is it something I could wear?
Yes! Ok. that Tiffany & Co. bracelet that I've been wanting since December.
his eyes were twinkling.
Big smile. Evil smile. harharhar!
...and he blurted out. YOU ARE SNEAKY! How did you do that! Something is wrong with you! I don't like you anymore. Blah blah blah!
for some reason, my instinct was very strong that he got me this:

Dayton Air Show

Thousands of expectators gathered this weekend to watch the Vectren Dayton Air Show. It was highlighted with the World Famous US NAVY BLUE ANGELS Flight Demonstrations Team lead by CDR Steve "Boss" Foley. Their performance is a thrilling mix of amazing maneuvers by the four-jet delta formation and two solo pilots in the incredible Boeing F/A-18 Hornet.

It was my first time to actually witness this incredible show and I was so stunned seeing them off the air convened very close in one spot and not going to collide.

This show is amazing! Those who will have a chance to see them should watch it at least once. They have amazing flying skills and acrobatics, it was the best tlga!

After the show, I went to see if they will come out for a photo session and sure enough, some navy officers came out and started handing out an autograph pamphlets. One guys asked if the Blue Angels Pilot would come out for some photo session and an autographed signing and they did! I had my pamphlet signed with all 6 pilots! Sweet :p

Actually, one reason I wanted to see them is that after the show, they announced all the names of the enlisted navy's and where they are from. I heard a name, then - Manila Philippines...I was like, I wanna see him! LOL that makes me proud once and for all. He was working in their Power Plants so I did not get to see AD2 (AW) Paul Kwantanenggee.

So anyway, I got to see the Blue Angels 6 Pilots up-close which thrills me (for some reasons) and I had a photo with two of the pilots. The downside is your's truly's skin is too dark now after an all day affair with "Haring Araw", JJ looked a lot like a lobster.

...but i am grinning ear to ear and that's what matters Image

Best day of my life

So what happened on the 4th of july 2006, the day and year I turned30?

When I reached 60 yrs. old and my memories will start to fade, I hope that my kids and grand kids (if there is) will have something to check out and read what happened 30 years back.

Typical morning, Star woke me up around 8am so she can potty outside. We went for a little walk and played a little bit before we head back home for her breakfast. I felt so lazy to do something for my birthday so I sat down infront of my square-headed BF and blog hopped.

JJ then woke up and told me to clean up. I gave him a hard time. I am too lazy! Well I was excited for his birthday present for me. Told him i'd get shower if he will give me my gift. He said, I have to looked good before he will give me my present. But of course the hard-headed girl won! He hand me a birthday balloon and put 3 pcs. each of black and silver beads =)

SO, here it is! Something I could use for our upcoming international vacation.

We are supposed to be at Easton Theatre for the 1:30PM show of Superman Returns and we are running out of time. While I was getting ready, he told me he needed to get something to bite before we head out to the movie. So off he went!

Damn, I have too many clothes but why am I having such a hard time choosing what to wear? These on-sale clothes looked so darn cheap! I should probably get clothes that suits my age? I hate this thoughts! Grrr... I had to change my outfit 5x be fore I got comfy with jeans and a black tank top.

JJ got back with a sack from Wendy's and a bithday cake/ice cream for me from Coldstone Creamery. Isn't that yummy? I love grapes, opps... I meant strawberry! =) Hmm...another surprise from my ever thoughtful JJ.

Superman Returns was a great movie. JJ and I enjoyed it along with Doug, Larry and kids who managed to save us a sit. The theatre was crowded and why not? The movie lead me to some emotional moments and humor.

Brandon Rout as Superman did a very amazing job and don't forget he is super yummy too! Yay!

Anyway, after the movie JJ and I did some shopping for Star at Moochies and Co. then we head out to the Fish Market for a good dinner, only to find out that they were closed and so with Lindey's Cafe. We end up at Mimi's Cafe, still at Polaris. Gee! so much for an independence day birthday.

...and so we feast for a very good Cajun Blackened Salmon and 12 oz top sirloin.

...a glass of Mimosa for me and Merlot for JJ.

...a toast for my 30 yrs. of existence! for all the blessings and for having a great partner in life...there is nothing else I could ask for.

The best way to end this special day is watching a firework at downtown Westerville. This time with us is Star who is a little bit freak out with all the loud noise around her. She ended up wet after so much excitement of walking around while waiting for the fireworks to start.

Happy Birthday USA and ME!

Yeah, really! I just hit the big 3-0!
Is there something to fuzz about?

I am more than happy with what God has given me for my 30 years of existence. Family and friends, and most of all JJ and the little Star <--she is my baby :x I don't have plan for my birthday. For one thing, I've been working crazy hours lately enough to haunt me in my dreamz. JJ said its not just a dream, it's a reality. So, I don't have TIME to plan for my birthday. I am too tired to plan! Well, I guess I did choose not to plan because I have no choice as well. Last sunday was JJ and workforce's Project Implementation so he's been putting too much hours the last few months or so. We used to travel either on his birthday or my birthday.
While I was taking a break from work today, I managed to exchange text messages with JJ who is just working from home. Weather was pretty ugly -lightning and thunderstorms here and there.

Me: Babe, juz told mah frens dat we wud go out for my bday on other days. Be sure to tell ur frens 2 in case dey r planning something 4me. (i dislike surprise parties for me, i just don't know why, strange huh? uhm, well I guess it depends on who is planning heheh)

JJ: U mean the whole day, just me and you? U sure u can stand me? :x

Me: wut do u want den? d'ya want me to hang out wid them?

JJ: No, no. I like the sound of it actually. I miss you... :-)

Me: Missed u 2! I love hanging out with u, more than anybody I know. Can't u tell?

JJ: Awww...that's Sweet Babe. I won't tell Star and your square-headed BF either

Me: Star is next in line den SqH BF! U are my bestest fren, my luv and luver :p

JJ: As you are, my love...

It just made my day... I'm feeling so blah working the last 3 days, It feels like my body was there, working because they needed me but my mind was out somewhere. I seldom talk to my co-worker and just flashed a fake smile to customers.

Anyway, going home JJ and I almost pulled in the driveway together. He just got home from somewhere and got us a dinner.

And then I saw that lovely flower...that picture I posted on top, coupled with a birthday card :-) Isn't that sweet of him?

So...I am 30!

I am 30 years vibrant!

I am 30 years bold!

I am 30 years hip!

and I am 30 years witty!

I am head of the 30-years-trendy committee!

I am 30 years smokin'

and 30 years snappy...

for JJ and Star, I am ALL that and More...so surely I'll be 30 years Happy!

Coffe Cake anyone?

Somebody come to my house and eat the rest of these? that is the frakkin' big ol COFFE CAKE! One of the many, I've missed after leaving Panera Bread. This is a danish dough formed into a fluted ring, baked with one fruit filling such as apple, and cheery and a special-recipe cheese.

Thank's to the kindness of Lyn who delivered this to my house at 12midnight, yes you read it right 12AM! She also got me a Honey wheat bread and some bagels! See how big her heart is? Love you Doña Lyn! =)

A Glass of Water

Here's HOW-to flush out the toxin's from our body:

Drink two glasses of water upon waking up.
Go for a 30-minute brisk walk on an empty stomach.
Drink two or more glasses after your walk.
Then have one glass of water 30 minutes before meal.
Drink four more glasses during the day.
That adds up to 11 glasses!

I can do it, oh yeah! =)

And the result is...

Ha! Just got my Blood Pressure checked last night while JJ and I are doing some grocery shoppin' at Meijer...and the result? Dyarraannn!!!!

All is well, thanked goodness. I am just surprised 'coz i know I've been taking too much sodium these days. All these soy sauce and patis, whew! I know they're bad but I just can't get enough! Damn, damn damn! I am getting fat'ter too! Pissin' me off. I missed the good old days going to the gym after work, 6x a week! I missed those times where I can wear anything without worrying about bulging stomach. Gym's are everywhere, don't get me wrong, but being on my knees the whole time I was at work? Nah, I just wanna be home and sit or lay down in bed...you know what I mean? The only form of exercise I can do is taking out Star for a walk and/or jog. Sometimes I do push-ups, some belly dancing, some kick-boxing. Noticed the word "some"?

JJ you need to work on your test result *-* OKey?
Tatah now!

Simple Pleasures

Here's top 10 pleasures, assignment from Maring Jenny.

1. Being with JJ on weekends, just chillin' out, huggin' and kissin'before and after work and before bedtime. Receiving flowers/gifts from him.

2. Playing and just being with Star and wishing that she would sleep with us in the bed and she would one day be a lap dog. She is very hyper ever since! I haven't remember any single moment when she goes and sits in my lap! =(

3. Remembering the good old days with friends and family.

4. Seeing the Winter's snowfall. I love snow, talaga!

5. I was complemented about the way I smile. During an interview from a previous job and the
current one, the bosses mentioned that my smile is one reason I am hired =) I'd be good with customer service "kuno". A few people also commented about how I still managed to smile even if I looked very tired.

6. When a customer phoned my boss just to tell her that I did a great job dealing with her order and I got 100% rate on a customer satisfaction survey. Just doing something right no matter how big and small your job is, is a great pleasure.

7. Taking off my shoes and work clothes after a long day at work.

8. To see someone happy, grateful and thankful after doing a favor for them.

9. Daydreaming how will I be able to spend a million dollar I won from a lottery or sort of.

10. Knowing God is in control.

OK, there ya go! I am supposed to tag this to 10 people?

Here's 10 names that I can think off. I don't know who you are though but if by chance you read this and felt like wanting to do it then by all means, go for it!

1. Cristina
2. Catherine
3. Jovelyn
4. Emily
5. Archie
6. Lanie
7. Alex
8. Bridgit
9. Roy
10. Annie

Nahh...heheh names diay ni sakong mga classmates...and 2 ka lalaki dha akong ex...bleh! Hala be original kuno!

Two of two...

Today was the big day for Cedar Point. I'm telling you, just the thought of roller coasters makes me sick! But whatever! Let's go! Let's go! (Star would surely wound up if she heard this)

The first thing JJ did when we got there was to show me all the rides and let me decide which one I would want to try first. They have all kinds of stuffs: roller coasters, thrill rides, carousels, childrens rides, spinning rides, tranquil rides and water rides - so many to choose from!

Hmmm...Sky Ride! It sounds gentle so off we go. Very cool, you can see scenic view of the park, Lake Erie and the landscaped gardens. JJ laughs at me when I say I'm gonna die hehe! but he always assured me that I'll be fine knowing I survived the rides in Kings Island and Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World where somebody died for a heart attack! Gessh, I'm not quite ready yet!

Going on, we went and rode the Iron Dragon, it is great for me to get wound up. Guests aboard Iron Dragon are taken high above the treetops, around swooping turns and over a misty lagoon.

Then we saw the Train that travels Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad. There was no wait in line, so there we go!

Cedar Creek Mine Ride, also great for intermediate roller coaster enthusiasts! Infact, after the ride I told JJ that I think I can ride it over and over again.

After this ride we went ahead and watch a show called Divine Divas. They had a great show that lasted about 25 minutes.

We saw a lot of cottons falling off from its trees.

We stopped by to a Guessing Game and for $5 the lady tried to guess what my birthdate was. if she guessed 2 mos. before and after, I won't get a price. Her guess was too far, January instead of July so I got a price :-)

Next we went to Camp Snoopy. Snoopy had a sing-a-long with her friends and kids were invited for some singing and dancing.

We grabbed a bite at Johnny Rockets. Waiter and waitresses entertains the customers with their dancing, customers are invited to have fun! Notice one of the customers get down, sabi pa ni JJ...hmm...I wonder what Osama says about that! hehe LOL!

OK moving on, we rode Space Spiral, its a tranquil ride which gives a panoramic view of the park. It is 330 feet high, one of the tallest structures in the park.

Disaster Transport which makes me scream because its totally dark inside, you won't know when it turns and dips!

Gemini is a ride where 2 trains run simultaneously on paraller tracks and race for first place finish.

Mean Streak, is totally mean! this kicked my butt! After this ride, I was totally done! This is a woodern roller coaster that gives me the feeling of 90 degree drop! OMG! I had difficulty breathing after this ride, and I was about to cry!

I told JJ I'm done! I'm just too chicken to ride the dragster, millineum force, magnum xl-200 and a lot more. I'm scared that I passed out. I had some kind of heart trouble back in HS and college and I'm scared it might trigger it. I told him, I am willing to wait for him and I'll just hang around or do some shopping. JJ wants to experience it with me though,, but on the other hand he doesn't want to force me.

With more assurance that I am willing to wait her waited in line for Millenium Force. It took him about an hour to get to the ride and when he was back, he was grinning ear to ear. He seems so pleased, told me the ride was very smooth and is something worth waiting in line for!

Here is MaxAir, a ride that I don't think I'll ride ever!

JJ wanted to ride the Top Thrill Dragster, so I told him to just go and just let me do some window shopping. Too bad he wasn't able to ride because it started raining and they had to stop the operation. Imagine the speed of 120 mph with rain pouring on your face, it would be painful!

Yikes, I get sick imagining me on this ride. This ride is on my list of No-no's!

Btw, after the rain was a rainbow. Isn't it pretty?

8PM we decided we should hit off the road so we can be home around midnight. We saw the Wicked Twister with no waiting in line. I told him to ride and I recorded it despite the chills!

There goes a fun weekend. Although I admit with all those ride I tried, I closed my eyes most of the time even if its dark. I was also screaming, well i guess everyone is but the difference is that mine is more of a terror than fun. JJ is loving the rides. Good thing is that we were only a couple hours drive away from this park and Kings Island is just an hour and half drive...:-)

One of Two...

Finally, something to talk about!

JJ and I decided to get off from work and do something away from our respective square-headed gf's and bf's. It was a sort of ASAP plan although the idea was already there - to do something on Friday and Saturday. One thing for sure, we wanted to hit off Cedar Point. Thursday night, we were up late screwing up with our pc's and went to bed with no final plans.

Friday morning, Star woked me up around 7:30 to do her morning routine. So I took her down and let her do her business and gave her breakfast. After all that we went upstairs and decided to wake up JJ. He started calling this Dog Day Care trying to find out if we can have Star board for a day or two. We ended up booking her at Big Walnut Animal Care Clinic which is where we go for her vet appointments. Right there and then, I started getting ready/cooking for her food that will last till sunday morning. (We should be back saturday night but we won't be able to pick her up until sunday since the clinic closes on saturday's at 4PM). Star is on a special diet for rice, chicken and eukanuba with antibiotic for her tummy trouble.

Now, we can plan for ourselves. JJ booked an overnight stay at a Holiday Inn Hotel, printed the map, packed our clothes, showered and everything, finally left the house around 10AM for Star's boarding.

We went to see her place which seemed so nice, and clean, quite spacious for a little critter like her. Infront of her room was a tiny dog, so I guess she'll have someone to talk with other than those big barking dogs. We also booked her for grooming. Good thing somebody backed out at the last minute! Also we signed up for 3 TLC/day which is 10 minutes playing and petting. We did came back though to bring her bigger toys. (JJ brought the small toys but the clinic didn't approved it, it might go down the drain). So after all Star was settled, we hit the road around noon and arrived in Catawba, after 3.

We then looked for the Jet Express that would take us to Put-in-Bay Island (located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie, just off the Ohio shore), one of Ohio's vacation gateaway, instead we got to the Miller Boat Line. So we boarded the ferry and got to the island after 18 minutes!

Rode a bus and headed to the downtown and went straight to Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial. The 352-foot high Doric column of pink granite towers above the island tree's.

Constructed between 1912 and 1915 by a commission of nine states and the federal government, Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial was built not only to commemorate the American naval triumph, but also "to inculcate the lessons of international peace by arbitration and disarmament.

Next, we hiked to the historical De Rivera Park which is just across the marina. They have lots of shopping, bar and restaurant.

Then we checked out the Chocolate Museum, looked around and got dinner and dessert respectively.

Now we have something in our tummy, its whine tasting time! Too bad, they were already closed! Darn! Oh well, can't argue, we started the day too late. We didn't even get the chance to see the caves, but we will be back! Soon!

We had to head straight to the Miller Ferry for their last trip which is 8PM. Here is a video when the ferry was about to dock.
